The Preservation Fund is named after former TGHS Treasurer Vrej Mardian, who served on the Board of Directors from 2012 until his untimely death on October 18, 2016. In addition to serving as Treasurer, Vrej was responsible for coordinating TGHS’s Speakers Bureau and was an active volunteer at many events, most notably the annual Home Tours. Prior to joining the Board, Vrej served on the City of Glendale's Historic Preservation Commission from 2005 to 2011, including two terms as Chair.

Vrej was a 40-year resident of Glendale. Having earned a B.A. in Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture, he was the president of a local design, planning and engineering firm, Mardian and Associates, Inc. Vrej had an abiding love for Glendale, a great appreciation for historic preservation, and a deep commitment to serve his community.

Donations to the Vrej Mardian Preservation Fund are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
