SONIA MONTEJANO   |   DIRECTOR, DOCTORS HOUSE

Sonia is no stranger to public service; she retired from her 20-year law enforcement career in 2006 when she, and former spouse Hector, moved to Glendale to restore Lewis House, now No. 68 on the Glendale Register of Historic Resources.

Sonia served on the Board of Directors from 2008 to 2010 and has been Director, Doctors House since 2009. Her leadership has led the museum to increased attendance, due in part to ongoing Victorian-inspired events and exhibits, and guided museum tours.

Professionally, her law enforcement persona is not retired; she presently plays herself on the CBS syndicated court show, Hot Bench. Sonia is enjoying her “new” 1924 Spanish Revival home in the hills of the Montecito Park neighborhood of northern Glendale. Sonia’s volunteerism is inspired by her love of history and sense of community. She believes every volunteer plays a role in shaping a better future by honoring the past.
