Judy Cabrera Judy Cabrera (Treasurer) has been active in the Society for 25 years. She is an education assistant for the physically disabled at Balboa Elementary School. “Shortly after joining the Society I became a docent at The Doctors House Museum. I love showing off the House and working on exhibits with historic themes. Of course my favorite landmark is the Doctors House”.
Greg Grammer Greg Grammer (Chair, Membership Committee). New to the Board in 2008, Greg has lived in Glendale for 11 years and currently resides in a French Provincial style house that had been featured in a 1936 issue of McCall's magazine as “The Home of the Month”. Greg has a Bachelor's degree in government/journalism and a Master's degree in Public Administration.
Margaret Hammond Margaret Hammond (Board Member at Large) hails from Toronto, Canada and has been a Society member for 25 years. She is active in many community organizations including the Assistance League, the Adams Hill Homeowners Association, and Glendale Beautiful. “I love our Southern Pacific Train Depot. In the 1980s, the Society was instrumental in its preservation and it now serves Amtrak and Metrolink passengers”.
Marcia Hanford Marcia Hanford (Chair, Events Committee). New to the Board in 2008, Marcia has lived in the Verdugo Woodlands area for 27 years. She has Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English and has held board of director positions with the Los Angeles Conservancy. She is also serving on the Alex Regional Theatre Board. Marcia teaches business classes at the Glendale Community College Garfield campus.
John LoCascio John LoCascio (Vice President), is a licensed architect specializing in residential design. He co-chairs the Rossmoyne Historic District Committee. John and his partner, David, reside in a 1927 Spanish Colonial Revival home they restored. “My favorite landmark is the Glendale Federal Bank Complex. It's very unique, very cool, and so evocative of the 1950s. Walking through the doors is like stepping back in time to an era of great optimism and promise”.
Isabelle Meyer Isabelle Meyer (Director, Doctors' House Docent Guild) has been the organizer of Doctors House tours and events since it was relocated to Brand Park from its original site at Belmont and Wilson. She has a Bachelor's degree in liberal arts and a background in elementary school education. “My favorite landmark was and still is the Egyptian Village Café because it represents a lost treasure that should have been saved.”
Arlene Vidor Arlene Vidor (President), is a native Chicagoan. She has a Bachelor's degree in biology and was formerly Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for a multi-national healthcare company. In 2005 she turned her attention full time to the arts and historic preservation. Arlene co-founded the Tropico Artists Collective and also serves on the Board of the Associates of Brand Library and Art Center.
Elaine Wilkerson Elaine Wilkerson (Secretary), Elaine is a native of Toronto, Canada. She was Director of Planning for the City of Glendale and prior to that, Director of Land Use Planning for Portland, Oregon and Community Development Director in Beaverton. Elaine has a Master's Degree in geography and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and the Canadian Institute of Planners. She lives on Royal Boulevard.
